Research Interests

My current work primarily focuses on learning in informal contexts. Broadly, I am interested in motivation and self-directed learning throughout the lifespan and intergenerational learning between both family members and community members.

Child Learning and Development Lab

I am a member of the Child Learning and Development (CLAD) Lab at Clemson led by Dr. Faiza Jamil and Dr. Luke Rapa, which primarily focuses on the cognitive, social, and emotional development of children of all ages, the impact that various environmental factors have on this development, and the interventions that can be put in place to enhance the probability of positive outcomes based on these findings. I have assisted in the "Inspecting What's Expected" research project, which aims to determine how critical consciousness and beliefs about equality are developed in late elementary-aged students (4th and 5th graders) and impacted by teacher beliefs.
