I ensure everything is in order.
I will pull my weight.

Throughout my childhood, my parents insisted that my younger sister and I always do our share of work around the house. We never got an allowance or a special treat at the end of the week for doing chores, as some of our peers at that time did. Instead, we were rewarded with the simple pride and joy of doing a good job. We knew that if we slacked off with any of our duties, we would be called back inside from playing to redo it. Because of this, we quickly learned the truth behind the phrase “if you don’t have time to do it right the first time, then you must have time to do it again." This may seem irrelevant to our creative inquiry, but I believe that it exemplifies efficiency, a strong work ethic, and an intrinsic motivation. I’m confident that all of these qualities will be applicable to our EL journey.

Since the beginning of my academic career, I’ve always been commended for my organization. Whether it was through my tidy desk, neat handwriting, or color-coded notebooks, it quickly became a priority of mine to stay on top of my work. Having a clear, uncluttered work space helped me immensely. While I can be flexible and work in a more chaotic atmosphere, as some teams thrive in situations that are relatively less structured, I prefer to have more consistency, and I am willing to put in extra effort to achieve this.

My organization skills have also spilled over in to my documentation practices. While I was originally skeptical about the concept of documentation, Laurel strongly encouraged it, and I gave it a try. I’m so glad that I embraced documenting and reflecting, because it’s proven to have amazing benefits! Additionally, I believe that my experience with Entangled Learning will be similar; while right now I’m not entirely sure what I’ve gotten into or how it all works, I’m confident that the end results will be incredible. I’m excited to have to chance to document this adventure so that we will be able to look back in the future and see  how far we’ve come.

My experience as an SI leader has shown me just how complex the process of learning is. I truly believe that each indiviudal has a unique way of integrating information, and using collaboration, unimaginable barriers can be broken. As an end of the course project for CU1110, I was required to create an ePortfolio about SI to be shown to course instructors. Click on the picture above to view this ePortfolio.

I can reflect.
I have a passion for learning about learning.

Collaborative Portfolio

A huge piece of Entangled Learning is the collaborative aspect. In order to be successful, each Community of Practice member must be willing to put forward their own skills, experiences, and knowledge to better the group. The result is a unique blend and, hopefully, a dynamic set-up that allows for maximum efficiency in learning. I've dedicated this page to sharing a few of my own strengths to exemplify what I can bring to the table in my CoP for Entangled Learning.
